Zoo Co Young Company

Zoo Co Young Company is for 14 - 18 year-olds interested in Theatre and Performing Arts as a hobby or career. This is an opportunity for young people to devise a professional show as a company which will be performed at Fairfield Halls in Croydon. The participants will co-create a show whilst developing their creative performance skills, learning Zoo Co’s theatre practice and creating accessible theatre. Our Young Company is a year-long commitment beginning the second week of January, every Monday evening with performances at Fairfield Halls in September 2022. This is open to young people with various access needs, please let us know if you/your young person has any access requirements.

The workshops will be led by Zoo Co’s Artistic Director Flo O'Mahony. Theatre practitioners and industry professionals will lead guest workshops allowing the participants to gain a broad range of skills during your/their time with us.

During the year we will explore

  • Acting

  • Movement

  • Telling stories visually

  • Story structures

  • Working as an ensemble

  • Creative risk-taking

  • Creating accessible theatre (for example, creative captioning, incorporating BSL and relaxed performances)
