Young Company Past Shows
show image, show copy, location and dates, and a couple of production shots for each would be great.
Each year we co-create a show, which we perform in Summer, just after the Summer Holidays start. There is usually a week of intensive rehearsals / tech rehearsals during this week (in the school holidays). We have performed at Fairfield Halls, Stanley Arts, and the Omnibus Theatre.
Over the year, we’ll work together to devise a play. We often commission professional writers to put together all the ideas into a script.

Rooted - 2024
A dying village, on the edge of an ancient forest, fights for survival. Trees are cut down, young people are leaving, a ghost bride screams… When all the paths seem to lead to destruction of the way of life they’ve always known, four young people must choose: embrace a soulless kind of progress, or fight for something ancient, wild and true.
In this fantastical dark comedy, the Zoo Co Young Company makes a stand against unbridled greed. Created through a dynamic collaboration between young voices and renowned punk playwright Liv Ello, this visually captivating, highly ensemble production finds a way through the darkness as the young villagers ask- stay forever, or go?
Presented by Zoo Co, supported in partnership with Croydon Music and Arts and Omnibus Theatre.

C3 Programme
In 2020 Zoo Co ran four locality studios each week, in schools and community spaces around Croydon using a co-creation model to create a performance led by the participants in the group.
Croydon Young Performers at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, the Access Studio is led at Waddon Youth and Community Centre for young people with varying access needs and New Addington Centre for children with special educational needs attending Merdian School.
Young performers improve their acting and storytelling skills. Working with a theatre director our young companies make their own plays and share their stories.
This project is in partnership with C3. C3 is the Croydon Creative Collective. Bringing together Croydon’s best arts organisations, C3 offers training for young people aged 14 -18 in dance, theatre and performance poetry. C3 Companies train and make work together. Each year C3 Live will showcase the best of Croydon’s young talent on professional stages. C3 is funded by Arts Council England’s Youth Performance Partnership Fund.

'As a freelance producer, I was working across a range of organisations as part of LBoC in 2023-24. Although I have some access support knowledge, it is relatively limited so to have support with both equipment resources and a manifesto to give me and my clients goals and guidance was invaluable.' - Talita Moffatt, Freelance Producer
